if i take a class at a community college this spring and fail the class, would any of the UCs see that? i applied to uci/ucsd/ucla for the fall 2006 enrollment. can i hide my grade that i get at the cc from the uc schools? thanks!

even if you are admitted they will acquire your transcript and see the f and maybe reverse their decision on your appl

^but what if u dont send ur transcript to the univeristy or high school? btw i am a senior in high school and taking a class in programming at the CC just for "fun" in order to learn how to program.

if you think you might fail the class, don't take it.

^alright thanks.

Hi, my son is in the same (well, not quite, but its on the same topic) situation. He is a senior and has applied for colleges and is currently taking a calculus course offered at the high school, which is a community college calculus course. While he is not failing, he is struggling a bit.

Here is where I get confused. I was under the impression that if you requested the community college to send the transcript to a UC, that grade will be on his freshman year grades (ie if he gets a C in high school, that C will be seen on his freshman year grades and would affect his gpa). But a friend of mine told the class would be counted for credit and a letter grade would not appear. Another friend told me the UC's would not factor in this grade for anything. Some clarification would be appreciated... :)

I've been told that you can take the CC classes for fun if you wanted to. However, if you wanted to transfer the credits, you would have to show them all the grades that you received; thus you can't selectively choose good grades earned at the CC.
