Anybody else anxiously awaiting comm school deferral results?

anyone accepted this year still have their acceptance email? If so could you please copy and paste it here. Im interested to know the statistics given out. The deferral email said 130 people were deferred and they will accept 75 people. I wonder how many people applied.

by defferal do you mean waitlisted???

When are they sending out decisions? Or is there no solid date? I have a friend who got deferred, so I was wondering when I should expect to hear the good news, or if he hasn't told me by a certain date then I shouldn't ask.

They dont have a waitlist. There are 2 rounds of decisions with the comm school. If you are borderline they will defer you so they can see your 2nd semester grades and have more information to make a decision. They have left 75 out of 300 spots for these people.

They said we would hear by the first week of June. So there is still time, but for the first decisions they told us 2 weeks earlier than when they were suppose to. So i was hoping we might get the decisions a bit early again.

Obviously I'm not too familiar with the process, haha. But, can you only enter Comm during the Fall? Or can you apply at the end of Fall to get in during the Spring? I ask because I just ran into a childhood bestfriend last night and she's trying to transfer to UVA for Comm, but didn't have the pre-reqs so she's entering CLAS, will do the pre-reqs, and go into Comm. Just wondering how that whole deal is going to work out...

you can only apply in the spring and start in the fall

thats interesting...im trying to transfer to McIntire from an OOS university as a OOS student and I've been waitlisted. Im guessing the process is different for us, as I definitely had to accept a waitlist spot

oh ok, yours is probably like a general waitlist
if a deferred person who was accepted doesnt want their spot, it would probably go to the waitlist people

Here's a copy of the February 2008 acceptance letter, omitting a paragraph discussing the advising session that already took place in March:
