I heard from my Plebe that there is a Command inspection tomorrow. Is that done by the new Supe? What does it entail?

It's the most thorough inspection we get. There is one per trimester. 1/C Mids still run it (and grade it), but each inspector is accompanied by a commissioned officer, including some professors. Yes, the supt and commandant both will be walking around, but that doesn't mean that they see everyone (in fact, I've never had either of those two come to my room). Really, the actual inspection part is just like any other weekend inspection, except we wear the seasonal dress uniform.

Basically, we spend all week preparing for it and the plebes really need to buckle down and clean their cleaning stations. A good number of them will be up late tonight cleaning their room. Upperclassmen just focus on their own rooms (I "declared" myself done over two hours ago... good enough for me). By the time you're a senior, you know what you need to do and these things aren't really a big deal anymore.

The best thing about Command Inspection is that after all of the hard work you do organizing everything and putting it in a "proper" place, you forget where things are. That, and about 15 minutes after it's over, everyone's room looks like $**t again... but, whatever.. :)

now, it's time for bed

Thanks KPmid09!
I picture you guys on your hand and knees with the toothbrush cleaning the bathroom floor! It helps to get a first hand perspective from someone like you to know what our kids are going through. Just think, only 2 more command inspections for you and then you're done! You won't have to sleep in a sleeping bag anymore.

sleeping bag?

So they don't have to mess up the bed for inspection!

oo that makes sense

How about the best part of command inspection is that the plebes clean for hours the night before and then someone makes a paper work error and their deck doesn't even get inspected. ha!
