What's a good amount to start with on my Commodore Cash? Any suggestions or advice there?

I did a one time addition of 500 (I think the default is to add whatever amount you choose each semester so be careful). 500 ended up being about right. I had to add another 100 or so just because I wasted a lot of money at the bookstore and eating out. It doesn’t matter if you add too much because leftover commodore cash rolls over each year.

It just depends on how you end up using your card. Some people only use their card for laundry so they don’t end up using much at all. Others use it to eat out, buy books, buy random school supplies/clothes from the bookstore, etc.

We put $500 the first semester, and that was about right. Second semester, we put on less, but ended up adding more during the semester. D ate out quite a bit with friends.

We put in $200 for my D’s first year at Vandy (sophomore year, since she was a transfer) - we had to add a little second semester, but not much. She studied abroad the next year, so we put in $100 - added a little later in term. She lived off campus senior year, so no cash that year.

I would put in a lower amount just in case you are like my D & don’t spend a lot … you can add more at any time, online.

We put in $500 for first semester only and then I needed to add $100 toward the end of 2nd semester. My D used most of hers for eating out, printing (her printer broke), laundry and cab fares.

Right, I forgot about cabs. Quite a but of my D’s CC went to cab fare, too. She also spent some of it in the bookstore on both books and other things (sweatshirt, etc.).
