I have seen huge differences on CC for the amount of money loaded for commodore cash. For an incoming freshmen, what is a realistic amount that we should load for her each semester?

Depends on how it will be used. At the very least, Commodore Cash will be used for laundry. $100 a semester would cover it.

Optionally, Commodore Cash can be used for cabs, at some restaurants, at the bookstore, vending machines etc…

The thing is the cash rolls over, it’s not like is disappears at the end of the semester/year.

I think $250 a semester is plenty… I think we did $250 one time (not each semester) and just added more as needed. But alternately you could go ahead and do like $500 one-time and just trust the kid to not go crazy with it, then you wouldn’t need to worry about it for a while.

Because of the rollover, and how easy it is to add more, it really just doesn’t matter at all how much you put on.

Another thing is that commodore cash can be used at the bookstore - for textbooks, Vandy gear, and other things you can buy at that B&N. I used quite a bit of commodore cash my first two years in order to get the “class paks” for lab classes that had to be bought through the bookstore. Mail can also be sent using commodore cash.

thanks for your help!!
