It says on the common app to add any “any honors related to your academic achievements.”
Would you guys consider a regional essay contest (it’s not prestigious) as an “academic honor” since it required drafting, editing, writing?
Follow up question: Would honors for community service (ie. Prudential Spirit of the Community) be placed here? I can’t seem to find a separate honors section for that.
Anything you consider an honor is an honor. That being said, were you selected for this or did you win anything in it? If it was open to anyone and you didn’t get any award for it, you probably should move it to activities instead of honors.
