Common App Activites or Awards?

<p>Hi all,
I've been working on my common app, but I'm curious about the placement of a few things. Firstly, where would be the most appropriate section to place achievements/awards/honors for musical competitions? Would I place it in the activities section or the honors section (in education)? Some people have been saying one thing versus another, so just to be sure I'm asking.
Also, for the activities section, in terms for musical activities, if I participated in multiple orchestras, would I list them as separate activities? Or would I list them all under one activity for Musical: Instrumental?</p>

<p>I would be interested to see what more experienced posters say. Our daughter is not in music but is in athletics and theater arts. We were told that the “honors” was restricted to academic/school honors, and that awards related to specific activities such as drama or athletics would go under the “details/honors” section of each individual extracurricular.</p>
