Common App Arts Supplement for Dartmouth

Okay so as Dartmouth specifically urges applicants to submit arts supplement irrespective of their prospective major (mine's engineering), I thought I'll submit a few of my photographs...mostly of wildlife/nature.

Now... I want to know whether it is acceptable to edit the photos taken on Picasa or other such platforms or should I send in originals?? Plus .... Is it a bad idea to send in photographs based on one theme (i.e. wildlife in my case) ??

Moreover... just wanted to know... how important is the Arts Supplement?? Can it be a make or break factor?? Can an average arts supplement be the cause for a rejection??

Please help me out!! Deadlines are nearing and being an International applicant....overland mail takes time... so I'm damn confused!!

Thanks in advance for your replies!!
(P.S. I do believe my photos are quite good and have shown them to friends, teachers and guidance counselor and all of them approved....and hence I want to go ahead with it!)

Bump? Can any of the senior members on CC answer this??

Really need help!!

If your photography is an integral part of who you are as well as a passion that you will continue to pursue in some way at Dartmouth, definitely include an arts supplement. If instead, photography is a more minor aspect of your background, I would list it as an activity but not use the arts supplement.

It is a passion of mine and I would love to continue it but not major in it! But that is not what I’m confused about… Can anyone please answer whether or not I can edit my photographs as to enhance colour, use b&w,etc??
@aspiringlibby – Thanks for the reply anyway!!

Why would it be improper to make your work look as great as it can? If you are sending in something that won an award, I don’t think you should change it. If you are sending in art that you are proud of and to show what you are capable of, go for it!

Thanks a lot @AboutTheSame!
