I am a black Guyanese girl. Guyana although being culturally Caribbean is located in South America. I checked the Caribbean box under black, should I check the Latino then South American box?
You can if you want but few people count places like English-speaking Guyana or Dutch-speaking Suriname (as examples) as either Latino or Hispanic just because they are in South America.
Do you consider yourself Hispanic? That’s really what matters.
Traditionally, English-speaking Guyana residents would not be considered Hispanic (which is associated with Spanish ancestry/culture). Spanish speaking towns on the Venezuelan border would be an exception.
