Common App Essay is a bit over 250 words

<p>Well 131 words to be exact. Would anyone mind giving me advice on how to shorten it? Also i'm not sure i completely answered the prompt which is: Everyone belongs to many different communities and/or groups defined by (among other things) shared geography, religion, ethnicity, income, cuisine, interest, race, ideology, or intellectual heritage. Choose one of the communities to which you belong, and describe that community and your place within it. </p>

<p>But trust me its a good read or so i've been told, it's not garbage. If you don't have time to edit to get it to 250 words I understand but some tips at least would be helpful.</p>

<p>the common app essay length is 250-500 words… so you can go all the way up to 500. 250 is just the minimum if i am not mistaken. i didn’t send my application yet but mine is like ~480 words</p>
