My common app essay is 330 words so far and it says for it to be 250-500 words. I easily conveyed my point through 330 words but is that too short? Do I need to make it longer? I'm applying to Brown, Penn, and Stanford so I want my essay to be really good and make me a competitive applicant. Thanks

If you feel like you said everything you need to say then it doesn’t matter. However, it better be a good essay, you will have the adcoms thinking you didn’t try if it was bad and you still had all that space left.

Agreed. ^ if you feel like you answered the question, that should be fine.

Hard for me to imagine saying enough in 330, but I suppose it’s possible. Most kids I know are still going over 500 this year (next year, apparently, it will cut off at 500…).
