Okay so, my Common App essay is about a religious camp I went to and how it really helped me connect with my religion and how it has changed me for the better. I feel like it might be able to fit into the "A range of academic interests, personal perspectives, and life experiences adds much to the educational mix. Given your personal background, describe an experience that illustrates what you would bring to the diversity in a college community, or an encounter that demonstrated the importance of diversity to you." topic, but I'm not entirely sure. Should I just check topic of my choice? Because I don't really talk about diversity I just talk about my experience and its effect on me.

But if I did check topic of my choice, do I have to provide my own prompt on the essay?

Thanks.
