Common app Essay

If we attempt the "Topic of Your Choice" essay, do we need to title it? Thanks..

bumpppppppppppppppp

It's probably a good idea, though not absolutely necessary.

maybe..it depends on how straight forward your paper is. My guidance counselor told me to take mine off. If you have a killer title keep it, if not...trash it.

well when u paste it onthe space in common app form, doesnt it let ur click a subject under which ur essay topic falls under?

Often the title is what really makes the reader interested. Just my two cents; I'd say definitly put one on if you can think up a good one.

And if you can only come up with crummy titles like "How I survived a hurricane" or anything that sounds like a 5th grade book report... then just leave it untitled.

Is "Diving Into the Future" a good title????

all matters on what the essay is about

I didn't use a title. Of course, I haven't been accepted anywhere yet, but trust me, you won't be the only one who doesn't have one. It's not like adcoms are going to weigh their decision on it. "Wow, stellar SAT's, above average GPA, great extracurriculars and a glowing letter of recommendation...but the essay doesn't have a title. Next!"

You'll be fine either way. If you can think of a good one, by all means, use it. :D
