please! help on my essay

hey guys, does common app essay need to have a title? does it have to have my name, school, birthdate, all that kind of things?

And I heard from my friend that if my topic is "topic of your choice" i have to write what I'm talking about on the top. is it true?

It doesn't need to have a title or your name, but it would be good to include those two things. Doesn't need your school or birth date listed.

I don't know what you mean by "what I'm talking about on the top".
"Topic of your choice" means choose a topic. Stay focused on that topic, but make sure it shows your personality and how/why you will perform well in the future (especially at college). (Of course, it isn't really a good idea to do a "I will be good in college" essay)

what I meant was: do I have to indicate specifically what I'm talking about?
I mean, it's topic of your choice, so I guess I should indicate my topic on the top of my essay?

You don't "need" a title, because it doesn't instruct you to give a title. And unless you wrote off of a prompt you made up, I don't see any reason to give it a title, because the topic should be very apparent in the essay itself.

Also, when you print preview your app, you'll see that it says "You must put your full name, date of birth, and name of secondary school on each sheet."

lol 2 different advices... so I do need my name, school, and DoB on my essay?

yes, unless you're uploading online

Well I am doing the common app, so does that mean that I do not have to include those info?

common app online? then nope. If you're submitting by paper, then yes

thanks, man.
