ok so my class has finally taken the AP english lang exam and my teacher wants to give us a head start on college admissions essay. he is going to give us insight on how to write the essays and personally edit them. since a lot of the schools I'm applying to use the common application I figured I'd pick a topic from it so I can get a few schools out of the way before summer. the question i chose was to "evaluate a significant experience... and its impact on you." So far I have a paragraph that summarizes what I want to talk about in the essay. So i was wondering if anyone would like to read it and give me some feedback. I don't want to write this essay and then when I'm done think I could have picked a better experience. So if anyone wants to read it please message me. It's short so it won't take long to read it. Also a few questions...

Common App says 250 words miniumum.. what's a good length for essays in general, including specific essays from universities?

can I use my common app essay for all schools that use the common app as their application?

should i answer another question from the common app and compare my two essays to see which one is better?

Use a serif font but not Times New Roman, size 11.5, line spacing 1.2 (yes, you can do both of those non-whole-numbers in Word). This makes your essay look much more "professional," like a page out of a book. Single-spacing is too close together and makes it harder to read.

Serif font has the "extra strokes" on the ends of the letters. The font here on CC is sans-serif. Fonts like Times/Times New Roman, Georgia, Bookman Old Style are serif fonts.
