Common App Family Section: Adopted by Single Parent

<p>I'm waiting for a response from the Common App organization itself, but I'd like to throw this question out there.
I was adopted as an infant by a single woman who never married. To send the Common App online (which my high school and I prefer to do; wdon't want to mail it in), you need to fill in information on both parents. Obviously, my mom is Parent 1. But for Parent 2, it's not allowing me to leave it blank. And we don't want to fill in "Unknown", because we don't want it to seem that my mom was pregnant with me and the father is unknown. Is there any way I can indicate I was adopted? </p>

<p>Does it allow you type in something like this on the Parent 2 line:</p>

<p>“N/A: (meaning not applicable to you in your situation) Adopted by (Insert Your Mom’s name), single mother” ?</p>

<p>I guess common app didn’t think twice about that lol. for the part that says parent 2. put not applicable and that you were adopted by a single parent.</p>
