<p>The common application gives you very limited room to fill in anything for ECs. What is everyone doing? Should I just write “See Resume” or something of that nature? It asks for “Position held, honors won, or letters earned” and gives you the space for around four words. There is no room to describe anything.</p>

<p>if it's NHS or young democrats/republicans or habitat for humanity, you don't need explanations. if it's something really obscure (which could raise a flag), you might want to explain in the additional info section</p>
<p>But I cannot explain what positions I have held...and I cannot explain numerous positions. I hold numerous posts in journalistic pursuits at the current moment...but I want to differentiate between them. How did everyone else fit in their interests/positions held? The way it is now, I just cannot adequately explain some of my pursuits. </p>
