Common App Financial Aid Question

Okay so I currently live in Canada and when I first started applying to colleges the CAN Dollar was a lot better off so I did not really qualify for much aid, so on the common app I automatically checked that I wouldn’t be applying for aid. Now just to make sure I did a couple of net aid calculators and I realized I could get some money. Is there a possibility to still submit an application for FA even though I screwed up royally by saying I wouldn’t be applying for it on the common app? I already sent out the common app to all my colleges, and the supplement to all but 3. Is there anything i can do now?

Well first of all, if you are an international student, the net price calculators might not be accurate.
Are you a U.S. citizen?
But to,answer your specific question…contact the colleges and have them change the answer to YES for applying for aid.

Thank you so much! I am a US-Canada dual-citizen i’m just currently living in Canada.

Yes I would quickly contact each admissions office for permission to change status on that, then quickly follow up with the aid forms. However bear in min some schools are need aware for internationals. I may not affect your application, especially if you wouldn’t be getting a lot of aid anyway, but you just don’t know.

The OP has U.S. citizenship…so would not be an international for admissions purposes…or financial aid.

Thank you so much for your help guys! I decided to contact the places I applied to and see what they can do. Now i’m just worried they won’t respond before the Jan 1st deadline because of the break…
