I am a high school graduate from India. I am bit of confused which courses should I list on common app - the courses which I took in 9+10+11+12 or just the courses I took in just 12th only or I should list AP exams which I am self-preparing for? And what about graduating class size, should I count only those which were in my stream or 12th class as a whole? And what about class rank as in CBSE we have nationwide exams so our schools didn’t give us any recognition based on our class rank, however, they make advertisements and sends our photos to local magazine(I was also in the photo in local magazine) so where should I list it?
You need to list your classes for 9/10/11/12 as Science (PCB), Math, English, Language (Hindi/French/etc) and Social Science (HGEP). You may choose whether you want to list your AP exams or not, but as you haven’t received a grade for them, there isn’t much point in submitting them. You can list that you will be taking them alongside the month and year you will take them in. Also, class size for board exams is not important. You can either put the number of all students in 12th in you school and then specify that it is a board exam or give an approximate number of board exam students, such as 700,000 for CBSE. Leave class rank blank. Photo in local magazine for marks scored is not important so don’t list it anywhere as it only shows that you are too focused on marks. Just list your percentage and grade.
One more question, please!
As I have already passed 12th grade so the cumulative GPA will contain my 12th-grade percentage or my overall high school average percentage. And as you said I should specify that it is a board exam but I cannot find any section which tells me to specify this.
