Common App, Indian Style

Current year courses—please indicate title, level (AP, IB, advanced honors, etc.) and credit value of all courses you are taking this year. Indicate quarter
classes taken in the same semester on the appropriate semester line.

This is what the applicant has to answer in the SSR. Can any of you tell me what "level" and "credit value" we're supposed to give ?

Is this section even relevant in giving the adcoms a sense of what we have to study?

Any help is welcome.

CBSE?
No credit value.

^^Care to elaborate pixie???

I think by level they mean honors, IB, AP, etc… and by credit value maybe they mean the weight of the course in a 5.0 scale? I really don’t know actually…

As in:

CBSE Physics No Credit Value

CBSE Chemistry No Credit Value

and so on?

Psst I was hoping that someone would come and tell me it’s not required and that the transcript is enough. Ah well.

See american schools have this weird system of attaching credit value to their courses. They even have courses with credit value of 0.5 meaning the course requires less time or something. Anyway, we have a fixed system right? You might recall Terri overton debarghya? She said we just leave that part (the credit one) blank.

so its best if we just mention the subject and leave the rest alone??

^ Yes. 10char.

I wonder what my princi did when he filled that SSR. He didn’t ask me anything…

I specifically told my counselor to leave the credit stuff blank… Same as I did…
These AO’s know all about our system, so they won’t have any problem figuring it out… No worries…

Happy New Year people! Hope for an amazing year ahead! ( a lil in advance, yeah!)

Leaving it blank is not an option as i cannot continue with my application
