<p>How ridiculous and frustrating! We did not experience any of these problems when we used the common app with S1 2 years ago - but I have heard stories this year of people having issues such as described in the article. Almost makes one long for the days of typing applications and submitting paper apps!</p>
<p>How timely! Tonight, S asked me to proof his common app and when we looked at the 150 word short answer - it was truncated! fortunately, his was easy to fix.</p>
<p>This is a particularly stupid issue – if there is a thousand character limit, then list it that way rather than as 150 words, and display the number of characters entered so far. </p>
<p>I’d also think that by now the Common Ap folks would have figured out how to do a WYSIWYG display. You should not need to print something out to see what it will look like – for that matter, many schools don’t print out the Common App applications at all – everything is done on computers. What exactly are they seeing?</p>
