Common App issues affect Application Processing

Just a heads up that Admissions is testing the interface between Common App and their internal application processing system. Loading applications into that is what is needed before admissions committee review can occur. I can't blame them for wanting to test the interface, and Common App problems have most certainly impacted testing on UC's end. So, hang on for the ride. Things are being held up as far as admit decisions are concerned. This delay is also impacting emails being sent out to allow you to check your application status online. Current estimate for the load is 11/1.

Just an update. It looks like they’re a bit ahead of schedule. Received login credentials in an email. However, 24-48 hours is the estimated time needed after the email to be able to Check the Status of the application. Good luck everyone. The review process is beginning, now for the hard part…patience.

Update 2: The Common Application data is correctly showing or UC’s internal “Check Your Status” application with the exception of documents from the counselor (School Report) and Letters of Recommendation from instructors. In my daughter’s case, theses are Naviance-entered documents. UC, to their credit, specifically (in bright red), does identify this as an issue. You can call admissions to determine whether they can actually see that Common App has the documents. They are currently testing their document download, and, I’m told, it should be available soon. Good luck to all.

Final Update: The comman App, UC supplemental, and all documents have been received. Admissions hopes to start review withing the next week or two with decisions rolling out starting in mid-november. They had downloaded approximately 1000 applications as of yesterday when I called.

Again. Good luck everyone.
