I was sure I had submitted my Common App. to Stanford correctly but now they are saying they didn't get it & won't accept it. Every other part (payment, supplement, transscript, test scores, recommendations) was fine. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Ouch. hopeful, I think your best hope in this case is to contact the Common App support folks by submitting a ticket. Here’s a link: http://s3.parature.com/ics/support/ticketNew.asp

Tell them your Common App userid and the date/time you think you submitted the application to Stanford. If they can give you any kind of record that shows what happened, and it demonstrates that you really did submit your app to Stanford, then that should give you something to use with the Stanford admission folks. I’m not sure what else you could do in this case.

Good luck; we’ll be pulling for you.

Thanks. I contacted them & they just said that my account said “not sent”. I’ve emailed the school; we’ll see what they say.

They (commonapp.org) should be able to do more checking than that, if they’re willing. Their Web server logs could identify you by IP address and indicate whether you went through the Submit process. Whether they’re willing to do that is another story, of course, and there’s no guarantee that it would support your case. But there could be information there that tells what happened if, for example, you made it through the Submit process but your account wasn’t updated because of a load-balancing glitch. The odds are low, but it’s worth a try if you’re sure you did submit the app.

The first person who answered your question probably wouldn’t be able to get at the server logs; that would be someone a little deeper in the technical organization.

didn’t you receive an email confirming that you sent the commn app?

No. I realized that I hadn’t too late. I got one for the supplement & payment but not the application itself.
