<p>so I'm applying regular decision to several colleges on the east coast through the common app. Do I have to finish my common app essay and submit the application before i tell my teachers and counselor to send in their rec forms?</p>
<p>Or can I tell my recommenders to send in their stuff now so that I will have more time to work on my common app essay? Will the things they send get lost because I haven't clicked submit yet?</p>

<p>From the schools I talked to, they said they'll open up a folder for you and collect things as they are sent. Haven't heard of any exceptions though, check to be safe?</p>

<p>I've heard the same things...schools start folders for you as soon as something is sent, doesn't matter what it is.</p>

<p>I've already asked the teacher writing my recs to just send them anytime, and my test scores should be on their way, so the schools should have everything they need except for the common app....</p>
