Sending in app before recommendations are done

so I've just finished everything to do on my application, but my two teacher recommendations still haven't been finished. Can I send in my application without this, or do I need to wait until they finish?

if it’s not late, why don’t you just wait? i know you’re anxious, but what’s the rush?

I’d rather just not have them still looming there, I want to be done with it and i was wondering if anybody knew if I could just send it in now. I’ll wait unless somebody can give me the go ahead

pbbuff - go ahead and submit your Common App Online. The colleges to which you submit the Common App Online will receive the teacher recs as soon as each teacher submits them.

I have a question about the teacher recs for the common application.

Do the teachers have to do seperate ones for each school?

Or will they submit and then all schools that take the common app just be able to view the reccomendations?

Thanks.

misswhite - a teacher can choose to upload your letter of rec to the common app online, or to print it copies to send to each individual college admissions office via mail. Your teachers and guidance counselor can each do it however they want - they don’t all have to use the same delivery method (BUT, from the teacher or GC’s perspective, they’re supposed to use the same method for every student they write letters for. I’m not sure how common app polices that, but that’s a whole other topic…)

If the teacher submits the letter online to commonapp, then you can select which teachers get sent to which school on your list - you have to check a box for the letter of rec to go to each school you’re applying to.

Thanks Pinot.

I was wondering about that. I like the idea of not having to bug them for each school. Especially since it will be around 10 -12 schools.
