<p>On the Common App I have to put down my teachers and counselors in order to submit my application. However one of my teachers is going to send his rec via postage. Do I still have to send him the email that asks him to write my rec? I've already added him on my Common App account, I'm just unsure if I should send him the email.</p>
<p>I believe there is a way for the teacher to indicate that they are an offline provider of recs if they do get an email from a student. Not sure how or where, you could ask the common app but that way their name is down for the school to anticipate getting their rec. Otherwise, make sure your common app ID is on the form that they submit.</p>
