<p>Including step siblings or not, either way is fine. Reasons to include: If step-siblings attend or attended the same school, the connection can be helpful (depending on the school). If applying for financial aid and step-siblings are dependents of one of the the applicant’s parents or are being supported in college, report them to be consistent with financial aid information. If step family is mentioned in essays, report them to be consistent.</p>
