Common App Teacher rec

I'm really confused on how this process works. So I know that there's a place on the common app where I can invite teachers to write me a rec and that they can use that to send it to multiple colleges. Now I just want to apply to a few colleges right now but later on I want to apply to others. Do I have to tell them to write new recs for those other colleges or can I just tell them to send the one they have already written to these new colleges?

They write the recommendations, you assign them to different schools. You could most certainly add a school after a recommendation is completed and assign the completed recommendation to that school.

BillyMc is right. The teacher does not write a rec that is specific to any particular school. The same rec is sent to every school you choose to send it to. The teacher uploads it to the common app site. You can assign schools to the rec at any time before or after the teacher submits it online.

agree with all the above posts

If my teacher has already submitted the rec to college A. Now I am adding college B, can I automatically have my teacher’s rec to college B or do I have to send another invite to my teacher and he/she will send the same rec to college B?
