Common App Transfer Essay- Need Help Please!

Hi all,

I’m a student applying as a transfer to several different colleges for the fall semester. The prompt for the common app’s personal statement is “provide a statement that addresses your reasons for transferring and the objectives you hope to achieve.” The problem I’m facing is that I’m applying to different majors for different schools. For example, I can’t exactly wax poetic about my love for engineering when I’m applying as a math major somewhere else.

Does anyone have any tips on how to keep the common app essay vague and universal, while also writing something convincing and powerful?

You can submit different essays for different schools! Personally, I’m not doing this because I’m applying to the same major across the board but I’m almost positive you can change the essay an unlimited amount of times. I’m not sure if it’s proper etiquette to link a page that’s not CC but if you go to the “App Support” section of the Common App there is a question titled “Is there a limit to the number of edits I can make to my personal essay once I’ve submitted an application?” that explains it.
