<p>I have a question: I am applying to more than one college for transfer. And I wonder how I can modify my common app main essay for each individual college? Because it seemed to me that I can only submit that essay once for all colleges?? but maybe I understood it wrong.
Any clarifications would be very appreciated.

I believe it is for all and they are probably aware of it. What I believe is that some college essay questions ask you to elaborate on the transfer essay specifically for their school.
You can send in 3 different versions of your common app main essay.
My advice would be describe your interest in the major, how it developed, any experience you have, the coursework you have taken, etc in your main essay and a general overview of why you are trying to transfer. e.g. “The program at my university if focused on XXX-aspect of major while your insertion specializes in YYY.”
