Alright, so there's a section of the app requiring that I provide information about my current college. It asks for the number, name, address of my current adviser. I went to the adviser's office at my school and requested this information...and they refused. They told me that City College students (my current school) don't have assigned advisers, and that part of the transfer app is to be left blank...but the application states it's required...What am I to do? Can I complete the app without this data?

Call the schools you want to transfer to and tell them about your situation. Ask them what they'd prefer. I hope everything works out for you.

Hmm...I guess I can give that a shot. Does anyone know how essential this informative is? Is it possible to submit the app without it? Thank you for your insight =)

I too was wondering how important the "counselor" information was. Do colleges actually call your counselor while they are reviewing your application? It seems odd, especially since I've had 3 different counselors, and my current one I've only met once. :/

Does anyone have any insight into this matter? I guess I'll have to contact the colleges I apply to, or the common app itself.

for my common app, i just left that part blank. is it a big deal? I haven't submitted it yet. I too go to a CUNY and we don't really have counselors that are close or ones that even know much about us so i didn't see why it was essential.
