Common App Transfer to Brown

Hello everyone,
I am an international student here in the States, and I am going through the transfer process alone.
Deadline is approaching and my Brown application is not complete. So, I am a bit confused. I am tailoring my common app transfer essay to each school. So when they ask for reasons for transferring and objectives I hope to achieve, I widely talk about how they will help me achieve these objectives.
Again, I did not have any outside help, so I might be wrong.
The problem now is that Brown has a supplemental question that asks exactly the same. How do I solve this? Please, any help is appreciated
Brown question: Why does Brown appeal to you as a college option? Who or what has influenced your decision to apply?

common app question: Please provide a statement that addresses your reasons for transferring and the objectives you hope to achieve.

I view these questions differently.

For the common app question, you are being asked your reasons for wanting to transfer and what you hope to achieve by transferring. Why are you leaving your current school? Since you are applying to multiple schools, you made the decision you would like to transfer because…your current objectives are…

For the Brown question, why brown?

If you don’t get into Brown, you still plan to transfer and have certain objectives you are striving for. The reasons you would like to transfer and the objectives are more about you. The why Brown question is about how you will reach those objectives at Brown.

Thank you. I was thinking that being school specific in the Common App would benefit me, but are you saying I should write only one essay for the common app and that should be the same that goes everywhere? With no reference to a specific school?

Do the other schools have supplemental essays too? If they do, I would consider writing one common app essay that goes to all of the schools. In the supplemental essays address why that particular school.

Thank you! You were extremely helpful, and helped me save a lot of time too… I might simply address the school with a few sentences at the end.

My pleasure. Good luck!
