Hi everyone! I don't know if the private college that my daughter wants to go to, will look at that question "Do you intend to apply for need-based financial aid?" and make a decision based on that.

Can we still apply for financial aid if we say 'No'?
We may not be eligible for "need-based" financial aid... but it sure would help a lot if she could get a scholarship!

I'm not sure how we should answer that question.
What do you think???
Thank you!!

In the event that the school’s not need blind, it will affect the decision. I dont think you can apply if you put a no there, or it’ll be percieved as an obvious mistake and you’ll be considered for aid anyway since all ur financial aid documents will be with the college.

I think you should apply for a small amount of aid, i know colleges like Lehigh encourage on their website that students should apply for aid to get scholarships. So i would apply for a small amount of aid. That way, it wont affect the decision much.
Also, look to see if the school has merit based scholarships, u might get one of those.
