Common App: Would this personal essay topic be appropriate?

For the Common App's personal essay, many people have said to write about an experience that deeply affected you, and that it doesn't matter what the experience is, but only how it affected you.

I've been brainstorming a few ideas, and one of the ideas I had was about smooth, silky, hairless legs (yes...smooth legs, like the legs you get from shaving and stuff :P). I thought it would be an interesting way to portray how I accepted myself; in short, it would be an extended metaphor.

But would that topic be acceptable? It didn't really "affect" me as much as other topics I've brainstormed, but it is personal, or should personal essays only be about something that deeply affected you rather than something describing you?

Thank you so much!

Personally, the image kind of grosses me out. BUT, if you can make it work, it’ll be original and outstanding (in the sense that it will stand out!).

I really can’t say if the topic is good, but if you have ideas in your head about a personal essay really describes who you are in that way, then just go for it. Put words on paper. See if you like where it’s going.

Good luck!

Hahahahahahahahaha, I was wondering if college admissions officers would be a bit grossed out by the topic too, and I’m guessing they would be. d:

But thank you so much! This reassured me, so this will be one of the four choices I’ll choose from when I finally write my essay.
