Common App

Had a brief, last minute two-part question as I prepare to send my application.

When submitting my application, I can choose to only submit one at a time correct? Cannot remember from last year if that is the way it works.

In addition, I customized the CA question to fit for a specific school's detailed information. I have heard to you change your writing response up to three times, is that correct? So for instance, 1 school, edit, 2nd school, edit and then that's the last time you may change your writing response in the CA?

Yes, you will submit one app at a time school by school. The writing section is also submitted separately for each school - be sure to do that so your apps are complete.

After submitting to a school, you have the unlimited ability to change your app before submitting again with one exception. The main essay is locked. You can submit that first version of your essay to as many schools as you like. Whenever you want, you can unlock it, revise as much as you like (going in and out of it over a period of time until you are happy with the second version), and then submit the second version, again to as many schools as you like. Whenever you want, you can unlock it a second time and edit as before. Once you submit that third version, you will no longer be able to unlock it and will have to submit that third version to all your remaining schools.
