It really doesn’t matter. Why not just put, “Please see Additional Information”?

laststopforme: I put MUN under speech/debate

Neineibu and anyone else that’s worried about too little space: I submitted a resume that elaborated on my ECs, but I didn’t put anything like “please refer to it”. If they get it, they’ll look at it, and the space is limited because college want a nice neat summary, not a long explanation when they’re seeing your condensed list for the first time. Don’t worry about it :)

I operate a small business and am self-employed. Would this go under Extracurricular or under Work Experience?

^ Depends if you get paid or not

Btw I’m bumping a previous question - why, when you click on “print recommendation forms” does your guidance counselor’s name show up on the teacher’s name line?

same thing man! guidance counselor’s name isn’t appearing on the form.

Okay~ this may have been discussed before but…

Do I have to list all the SAT I/ SAT II scores?
I heard that people were accepted even though they just put down their best scores (on the same date, etc).

This is a known bug that should be fixed within the week. Tech support on the Common App Online website is available nearly 24 hours a day. You’ll get quick answers (typically less than an hour) to any and all questions like this anytime you submit a question or report.

My last reply was to the student who asked why teacher recommendation information was appearing in the guidance counselor form or vice versa. For whatever reason, I can’t get the system to “quote” the posting I’m replying to, though I check the box.

Type [quote=poster’s name]their text[/quote**]**.

My question: Whennn will the supplements be available? : [ I mean, I know that it depends on the school, but could anyone give me a ballpark estimate?

Neineibu:

For the SAT Reasoning test, I think that you should list all of the occasions that you took it that contributed to your superscore, i.e. your highest score in each section should be represented. Putting them all on the same date seems dishonest to me, and the App gives you the option of adding multiple test dates, sooo…

For the SAT IIs, if you have multiple scores for tests, only put the highest scores – that’s what I’m doing, at least. They’ll see my poorer attempts on collegeboard’s report.

At what time should people start creating Common Application accounts?

I will be a junior next year. Is it too early to create one?

^Yes. Relax. Enjoy junior year. walks off cackling

bluewatermelon: Yes. They delete all accounts after the application season is over.

Ya, around what time of the season are the supplements made available?..

I heard a lot of them become available sometime in August.

Does anyone know?

Would winning 4th place in an international quiz-bowl type competition count as an academic award? I can see the rationale for both sides…

and @mflevity - the summer camp should be under “Additional secondary schools” and the writing awards I think can go either way - writing is an extracurricular activity for you

^Yes, if you’re proud of your achievement, include that as an honor/achievement.

dchow08 - I was wondering more in regards to the whole academic vs. nonacademic awards…

We’re getting our own common app forum!!
