^ That’s what mod Roger_Dooley (sp?) said after we put a petition on Community & Forum Issues. crosses fingers.

The petition that some awesome guy ahemmecough started! lolz thanks for signing everyone

^^ Haha hookem168, I don’t agree with you on most things ahemcultscough lol but thanks for putting up that petition. I think it will be a great help.

Where do I put that I attended “Kumon”?

You put it under the “digimon” category, in “summer” section.

i would put kumon under extracurricular activities or maybe additional info, although i can’t really see it as a plus on your application
i worked there for a while and we didn’t have many high schoolers attending.

Assuming that you attended there (whatever that is, sorry for my ignorance) as a summer camp. I would assume so, unless you worked there, which would go in EC/additional info, i presume. i’m not sure what exactly kumon is.

Kumon is a tutoring program, sort of like Sylvan Learning Center, right?

Hi! um.. I’m studying abroad during the first semester of my senior year, and I’m putting that under “foreign exchange”. However, it still requires me to put a number of hours per week.
… I don’t know what to put.. I’ll be living there in Japan along with going to school there…
What do I do?

I remember putting studying abroad somewhere, and saying it was 168 hours / week (aka 24/7). I was filling it out while I was away, and it really is true that studying abroad is a 24/7 experience.

Also, have fun in Japan, it’s going to be such an amazing experience for you!

Yep yep, it’s like a tutoring/learning place.
I didn’t work there but I am volunteering there.

I have a question: If I volunteer throughout the year, in the summer 40 hrs a week and the rest f the school year 3-10 hrs a week, how should I put this down? It is still volunteering, so I am not really sure.

Common App: “Be sure to note the tests required for each institution to which you are applying. The official scores from the appropriate testing agency must be submitted to each institution as soon as possible. Please self-report your test scores below.”

Do you HAVE to report your SAT scores if you only want to submit your ACT score, given that the college you’re applying to will accept either one?
2.For the ACT, can you submit just your best score?

If you choose to submit your SAT score over your ACT score, do you have to submit all of the scores (even though all of them will show up on the official score report anyways?)

Is it necessary to put what AP tests you have taken and what scores you received, and do you HAVE to send an official AP score report?

Thanks to anyone who can answer these questions for me!

If I’m reading this correctly (having skimmed it), you put down your average hours.

Invoyable - so basically I divide my average hours over high school and put them under weekly?

@ TellItToMe

No.

Yes.

It really doesn’t matter since the college sees all of your scores anyway. This can actually be beneficial if a college superscores (takes your best scores on each section and adds them together) your results.

No, you don’t have to put AP tests down or send an official score report if you do put them down.

az1698: Just put down one number that you think captures how much work you put into it. It’s not easy, but that’s pretty much what you’ve gotta do.

K- thanks guys. One more question - for the recommendation’s, can the teachers just include a letter or do they actually have to fill that part of the common app out?

Teacher fill the ratings and write a letter.
