Common App is now live!!!!

Now back to work.

I’m suddenly realizing how much work this is actually going to be…

I’m already half done Im so happy

How!? Let’s see, I’ve got 3 rough drafts for the common essay and about 4 supplements mostly done. And there is so much MORE still lol.

:PPPP copy and paste is your best friend ahahahahaha. I already have info already typed out.

I finished

i did approximately the first page and decided that my kim k game was a much better idea. clearly my priorities are in check

^ Can I say I really love you?Omg you’re making my night

Wait. What happens when you are finished?

Forever hating myself for not getting my standardized testing over with early…

@rllyrlyodd I literally spent half my summer playing that game. Then I realized I needed to get my life together and actually be productive. And I never got past a D-lister (obviously I’m not cut out for the celebrity lifestyle).

I’m still stuck on my conclusion for the common app essay. Right now I just want to delete the whole thing and wait until I feel inspired again.

But there are too many supplementals to write. I think I’m just going to write the supplementals for the schools I’m applying early action to and do the rest later after I get admission responses back.

@Hawkace you move on to phase 2. Asking teachers for LOR if you haven’t already done so or sending in transcripts and test scores.

So if I recall, no awards section. So all the awards have to be set under extracurriculars? Extracurriculars include work experience , volunteering, sports, music, clubs, organizations, and awards all in one section? I’d rather list my awards somewhere else, do you know if the extra info section is okay for that

There is a section for awards by itself (at least when I applied last year) but you only have 5 spots. Personally, I put EC related awards in the EC section and the academic and other related awards in a different section because I started running out of space, but I am sure you can use the extra info section as long as you feel it is important enough to warrent that extra space

The fact that my school uses Naviance and I can’t assign recommenders using the Common App because of this -__-

I wanna work on it sooooo bad, but I’m currently wifi-less. I refuse to do it on anything that’s not my laptop. Good luck guys!!

Hey friends. I’m working on the “Family” section of the app and It’s asking for my mom’s education level. What should i put down if she has an associate’s degree? Graduated from college/university, some college, etc.

Graduated from college/university, and then you will have a choice of degrees.

For the testing section, under AP tests it says list all you’ve taken and are planning to take. Does that mean I list the tests that I will take in May of 2015 for the classes I haven’t event started yet? Or should I just list the tests and scores I already have from last year?

So excited!!!
@singmetosleep15 - I think it means that you should list all your tests that you’ve already taken and those that you will take.
For everyone else: something that helped a lot of my college-bound friends was making a document to save all their questions about the common app. So like if a section of the application asked for information they didn’t know, they’d record it on the document with its location (ex. profile -> citizenship -> SSN) and they’d ask later. Hope that helps, and good luck everyone!

I’ve already applied to two universities!!!
