QUESTION: in the activities part, when is it considered 11th and 12th grade? Say after junior year, you start an activity in the summer, are you still a junior for that grade? Or are u already a senior?

What should I put down for hrs/wk wks/yr when it differs throughout the school year and changed from year to year?

^ Average, do the math.

On activities, be consistent throughout the CA. Summer of 9th is 9, Summer of 10th is 10, and so on. If you did something that needs explanation, type up a detailed resume and attach it in the WRITING section. Also you CAN change the app after submitting it to your ED school. It is in the instructions.

Return address on recs is our school’s address, right?

252525: But what if you did something in the summer of 9th, and continued to do it when school began again, so it would count as 10th. Therefore, would you check BOTH summer and school year for that activity?

2 QUESTIONS:

So, it sounds like it’s possible to upload a different essay to each school to which you apply, right?

What is a high secondary profile?

^ The profile is a summary of the school, its grades, and other characteristics. Every guidance counselor makes one and sends it to colleges.

It usually has a distribution of GPA (% with 4.0, % with 3.9, etc.) and maybe other factors colleges should take into consideration (a school with 60% drop out rate will be looked at differently than one with 100% attending 4 year colleges)

Now that the school forms are online, how are the fee waiver request letters from the counselors submitted? Fax?

For the teacher and counselor forms, can I just print the forms out and give it to them to send in, even if I am applying online? However, some people on the CA forum were saying that you need the Common App ID # on the bottome of the forms…is that true?

Another question:

Really Confused:

Only one time that’s necessary. Just, that version might have be generic–not alternating for each college. But number of universities doesn’t matter.

If it’s paper, photocopy. But, electronically, I think as long as it is on your common app, it’s fine.

Another question:

Does the commonapp limit you to only 2 letter of recs, meaning I can only send 2 requests or can we send as many requests as possible but only have 2 count or do all letters of recs count?

If you want to send additional rec letters, you have to send them separately. CommonApp is only for what is required. Addtl letters, ofcourse, are optional.

Does anybody know what to do with the Fee Waiver requests???

Will you be an automatic reject to the ivies if you only have academic honors at a schoolwide basis and have no regional or national or international awards?

Btw, the academic distinctions and honors section is only for Academics right?

No.
Yes.

Don’t worry!

I have a questions about the teacher recomm. forms from Common App site.

Are teachers supposed to fill out the form and just send that in, or are they supposed to write a separate letter AND complete the form?

Thanks adrivit.
On the School Form, Mid Year Form and everything related, there are only 7 lines for current classes, but I’m taking 9 or 10. What do I do?
And for the international supplement, do I understand it correctly that it asks for my predicted “Abitur”-results?

rockgolfer32: As they wish, both are acceptable!

_Silence: Send a transcript buddy! And yes u do, whatever Arbitur means :)

So I’ll just leave it blank and ask my school to attach the transcripts…okay. thanks.

“Abitur” 's the German leaving exam, something similiar like A-levels I think…

Thanks!
