So I accidentally sent in my common app to Washington and Lee and Vanderbilt with a stupid error. It said that my GPA was a 4.1 (which it is) but then for the scale I put 10 thinking it was asking for the grading scale and not the GPA scale. Can I withdraw my apps somehow and send them again with the correction? I don't want them to think I'm failing :(

The schools will look at your official transcript. That is what they will pay attention to, not what you put on your application.

I’m guessing they won’t notice it. If they do, they will figure it out when they review your transcript. If it will make you feel better, send an e-mail to your Admissions Rep explaining the error. BTW: Be brief. Say you made a mistake (don’t elaborate about how your cat walked in front of the computer at that moment), and give them the correct information.

Based on what just happened to us, I would email them and tell them that a mistake was made. My daughter had the scores correct on her transcript, but at the college end, somehow the 100 point scale her HS uses got converted wrong to 4.0 scale. By wrong, I mean, someone typed her GPA in there (or the system converted it) from a 96.21 to a 9.6 - then the system threw out an error saying her GPA was not within the range for acceptance so she was deferred early admission. She emailed them to ask what had happened and they found the error and accepted her within minutes. Phew!
