Common Apps?????

are common apps common to ALL colleges in the US, or just for like a certain system like the UC’s? does anybody have the link to the site where i can start filling out apps over the net? How do I send transcript, letters of rec, etc… over net? anyone have another site that can answer all these n00b questions of mine?

There are currently 277 colleges that take the common app. Some colleges take either their own app or the common app. Some colleges that take the common app also require you to submit their supplement to it. The common app includes requests for transcripts, GC rec, and teacher recs as separate forms that you print out and give to the people at your high school. The website is www.commonapp.org.

The common application (which can be filled out at http://www.commonapp.org/) is accepted by 277 schools (not every school in the US, but a great number of schools.) I believe that there is also an application form that is common to all the UCs. You can submit the common app online or you can print it and mail it to the admissions office. Your transcript, recommendations, and other materials must be mailed.
PS There is no such thing as a stupid question. When I came here I new next to nothing about the admissions process, and here I am a few information-packed months later answering the questions of others!

can someone fill me in with complete details on hwo to apply to ucla and ucsd, liek step by step, so i can follow it? Just thought it would be nice, seeing as how many on CC need it. Someone who has recently done it and succeeded would be preferable, but anyone with knowledge on it would be just as good.
