is it okay to use that commonapp additional info space (2000 characters)
for like a mini-essay? Or is it too much? Will they look at it?
What is it for anyways?

And one more thing, I accidently sent all my sat scores, when I meant to leave out my SAT II scores because I'm gonna take them again in Jan. Will they still look at my new scores? my old ones are really bad b/c I had just come back from a school trip... it's 680, 690 and 580. I know that last one looks just disgusting. ;(

If you’ve already written the optional essay for the Harvard supplement, then probably do not submit another additional essay. Additional essays/pieces of writing are only effective if you wish to specifically highlight your writing (e.g. you are published, you’ve won various comps etc.), and they won’t look at them seriously unless they are framed as such (more writing for teh sake of it just annoys admissions officers).
Additional info is more to explain details that the rest of the app cannot communicate, or fleshing out some detail for your activities and stuff…
Also, they will look at all your scores, and so long as the new ones are substantially better than the old ones, they might not hurt that badly…

thanks EphemeralEternal!
I’m just really scared to submit the thing – I don’t want to find out that I didn’t do something right like one minute after… hehe. I guess I should now.

^np, best of luck with ur app!! really, the small petty details cannot harm your app, so don’t be worried about them - just make sure all the key parts, the essays, filling out the ECs, and the short answer are all fine, and then press submit!
(if u later find any detail is erroneous, you can send corrections if u deem them serious enough to warrant it, but if it’s like a single typo, then don’t bother as that can’t make or break any case, i should think)
