Hi guys, I just got in UCSB with appeal(which i'm still recovering from all the excitement) and I'm just wondering how the communication major in UCSB is :). I hear it's really good though I dont know anyone doing that major. I dont mind changing my major to economics since I finished Macro and Micro, but I just want opinions on anything on the Communication major. Is it hard?

I hear its ranked 11 in the nation which is obviously good :)

yeah its a small department on campus but impacted major where you need a 3.0 in pre majors to get in

Is the major hard? Any great internship opportunities and stuff :D? My parents are iffy about this major, since they think it’s alot of writing which isnt my favorite thing to do and want me to do econ, since I already finished the two intro classes and less writing :(. Obviously they don’t care so much since I already got in the school luckily with the appeals XD

Q: Is the major hard?
A: Nope, but it may be hard for some people.

GL!

haha but I dont want there to be that much writing :(. I guess most major require alot of writing anyways but :).

There will be a good amount of writing if you become a communications major. I had a few friends who were com majors and I remember them always talk about their papers.

oh snap :(. Oh well I guess i’ll just have to cope with it :D. Hecka EXCITED FOR SB :D. BTW is there any job internships and programs for the communication major :D

Before I answer that, can you tell me what specific skill a communication major offers?

Its funny because I asked my brother what communication majors learn…

And he gave a puzzled look and said “How to communicate?”

So I want to see if you can help me answer that question.

i swear i saw 2 extra posts here but i guess theyre gone? :O
