<p>If one were to get a job in the field the graduate in, what could a communication major? How about communications major?</p>
<p>The title of one is plural, the other is singular. Basically, there’s no difference just based on that difference in title. You really need to look at the particular coursework that is offered in each department or school that interests you. Many programs offer specialty tracks within their communication majors, e.g., organizational communication, rhetoric, mass media, etc.
Some programs are a single department and some are a college or school of communication. Programs in a college or school of communication might have various specialty tracks or even several departments, e.g., advertising/public relations, journalism, broadcasting, etc. Different colleges and universities organize and structure these academic units in different ways. Some programs are more general and some more specialized with more options within the major.</p>
