Hello again, and thank you again for all the help with living on/off campus or commuting.. Now my question is this: I was going to get my BFA in photography at University of Akron but now I'm thinking I want to get a BA in communications. The reason is I think I'll get more out of it then photo regarding of wanting to run my own business in either photography or cosmetology. I know communication majors get bad hype for it being a useless degree, but I don't see how it could be so useless if there's so many opportunities available.. Is a communications major a bad idea or do I just stick with my photography major?

Also I’m a transfer student from cuyahoga community college. I have a 3.44 gpa and I already was accepted at Akron for a major in photography. And Akron has a really good business school but I don’t know if that’s a better option for me then communications, but I highly enjoyed my speech class at Tri c

Have you developed informed plans for a photography and/or cosmetology business yet? Your research should lead you to an understanding of what skills you’ll need, which, in turn, can lead to reviewing and choosing the best major for your goals.

I would def need the communication side for business as well as business degree skills. I think the communications might be better because I can also include business classes and minor in entrepreneurship. Then I’ll have both aspects.
