Communications or International studies?

Which major would be more marketable?

Generally : I have a passion for writing and meeting people. No office jobs for me! :stuck_out_tongue:

I like international studies cause I love learning about other cultures and languages, plus travelling. This degree would allow me to study abroad as exchange. I plan to take it with a journalism minor as one of my dreams is to be a travel journalist, or any journalist actually.

On the other hand my creative side has always been facisnated by broadcasting and I would love to do jobs on tv producing, hosting, script-writing etc. Would a communications degree be neccessary to enter this field?

Though overall, which major would give more opportunities? :open_mouth: i would love to to hear from anyone experienced in this line of work

quite frankly travel journalist jobs are like most journalism jobs these hard to come by but not impossible to get. and if you are considering an international studies major see if your school has a model UN club because it can give you a taste of what the international community is like. also the communications major is very broad but by the looks of what your saying it seems like you would like the mass communications major or broadcast journalism. well overall an international studies major for jobs is would be great. the communications major would give you the most opportunities because you can work in many job fields and industries and is very versatile. have a nice day
