So as you can infer from the title, I got into both universities.

Now, UCLA has a lot going for it--it is a highly competitive school, especially for communications and sociology (technically I'm pre-comm rn). It is in LA (who can beat that location/weather) and it is also chock full of opportunity. However, it is also on a quarter system and far from home. Also, it is public so I don't know if I would be as challenged academically (maybe I'm off base...any can comment on that?)

Georgetown, on the other hand, also has a lot going for it--it is world renowned for the programs I want to do, it is in DC, and it is private so I'd get more individual attention. However, it is not as exciting or as fun as UCLA. It is also more political based and I want a more commercial (ie fashion PR) based job.

Which one? My heart is saying LA but my brain is saying Georgetown...are Georgetown's academics worth giving up the experiences I would have at UCLA? Would UCLA offer me just as much academic and social opportunity? Am I being too idealistic and should I just go to Georgetown like my mother wants me to do?

Thank you for any and all insight.
