Have you or anyone you know been accepted to a medical school by first starting out at a community college? If so, what were your/their gpa and mcat scores?

I have a classmate who had a difficult adolescence and young adulthood. I think he started community college in his mid-twenties and then transfered to a well-regarded four-year institution after two years. I don't know what his GPA/MCAT scores were, nor do I think it's important. Suffice it to say that starting out at a CC won't sink your chances.

The reason I am asking this question is that everyone I do know that has applied to medical school by 1st attending a CC had a gpa of 4.0 and have been accepted to some med school. I, on the other hand, do NOT have a 4.0, so I am trying to get an idea of where I stand as a transfer student with a 3.5 gpa. After 2 yrs of CC, I'm finally transferring to USC.

No one can really tell you what your chances are with just a college GPA, CC or no CC. You also need an MCAT score and preferably your resume to get a good picture of what schools you could reasonably expect to get in.
