Community College kid...can I make it?

So, thing is, I’m smart, but I’m not a genius. I’m looking at Northeastern, Tufts, and BU. Last time around I didn’t even try to aim high - this time around I’m taking some chances.
Here are my stats:

GPA: 3.85
SAT: 1810
Bilingual German/English (American)

Went to UMASS Boston for a semester, couldn’t pay for it. Am currently finishing up at a community college to save money.

German American (as in, culturally & “ethnically” half-half)
Lived in Germany for about half my life
Poor background, have to pay for everything but rent and food myself (phone, college etc)
Lots of moving around
Academic motivation
Work as a paid intern about 20-22 hours a week

Lifetime of choirs, choruses and the like (very proud High Soprano)
English tutoring in Germany
Theater and art kid
Phi Delta Kappa
Dean’s List at UMASS Boston
Dean’s List at community college

Looking at International Relations/Affairs. What do you think? I think I need a damn good essay…

Regardless of if you were accepted or not, would you be able to afford these schools? Transfer students generally receive very little/ no financial aid. I’m confused why you would try to go to these schools if you couldn’t afford umass.

I’m actually trying out for scholarships this time around, and I should be able to get more financial aid as well. I know the money part is the real problem, but honestly if this doesn’t work out I have other plans, including studying in Germany. I am a citizen there, so that’s my safety option.

Oh btw, I’d also hopefully get a lot of need-based financial aid.
