Community College transfer -- what are my odds?

Hi. I'm a community college student residing in PA and I plan to transfer for fall 2009 as a psychology major after receiving my AA (Liberal Arts with a concentration in psychology).

I have a 3.9 GPA after two semesters (and I do not predict it will get any lower) and I will have a very strong letter of recommendation from a psychology professor.

ECs: Vice-President of Psychology Club, Member of Phi Theta Kappa, Reporter for the student-run newspaper (first two semesters only), certified Peer Tutor at my school's Learning Center, and I am in the school's Honors Program.

These are the schools I'm thinking of applying to (in no particular order):

Sarah Lawrence

UC Berkeley

NYU

Columbia

Cornell

Lehigh

Swarthmore

Hartford

Safety:
- Temple

Do you think I have a shot or should I revise my list and aim for somewhere to which I'm better suited (advice)?

Thank you in advance.

Cal, Columbia, Cornell, Swarthmore are extreme reaches as far as I can tell. You might have a decent shot at NYU.... Good luck!

Hi, thanks for replying.

I'm California born and raised and my mother still lives in CA -- I know Berkeley gives priority to in-state applicants. Is there a way I could use her address and apply as in-state, or is that not allowed (if you know)?

Probably not if your transcripts are from a PA school.
